Esteban Falconi is an environmental and human rights attorney with an LL.M. from Lewis & Clark Law School who has worked, researched and published on issues such as biodiversity conservation, access to genetic resources, protection of traditional knowledge, indigenous collective rights and human rights, food sovereignty, agro-biotechnology, biopiracy, bioethics, and the socio-environmental impact of intellectual property in developing countries. Since 2003, he has volunteered and worked in public institutions, NGOs, intergovernmental organizations and academia in Ecuador, Switzerland, and the United States. He is currently working for the National Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Ecuador (SENESCYT) on policy design and legislation drafting on science, technology and knowledge management issues. He is also a drummer and a dj.
