DAISY DEOMAMPO is a Ph.D. candidate in Cultural Anthropology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She also holds a Master's degree in International Affairs from New School University. Daisy’s primary areas of research include: gender and reproduction; science, technology and society; assisted reproductive technologies; and health and human rights. She has previously conducted field research in the Philippines, South Africa, and Argentina on issues related to gender, migration, and HIV/AIDS. After completing twelve months of fieldwork in Mumbai, India, Daisy is currently writing her dissertation on transnational gestational surrogacy.
